    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

I'll go for a drive in a bit and get torque numbers. My crappy scan tool app doesn't have mm3.

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

Online weather tells me my location is at 29.91 inHg, and my home weather station says 29.80 inHg, which would be 14.6 to 14.7 psi. I just went and connected my scan tool with engine off and it's showing 13.8 Baro and 11.9 intake pressure...why would I be showing vacuum with the engine off...

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

Appears that I'll need a real scan tool for that, Torque Pro doesn't have a PID for vane position that I can find. I've read varying things about stock boost levels though....seen some places say 22 and others say 18-19. If the latter is true, I'm chasing my tail. I guess first step is to...

    LBZ low boost? 18psi.

Reading the ECM with a OBDLink MX bluetooth dongle connected to my phone, running Torque Pro app. App tells me I'm peaking around 17.5-18 psi. From a quick google search, it seems like I should be making around 22psi stock. Truck is 100% stock, down to the intake and exhaust. No black smoke on...

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

When I replace the converter housing, would you guys replace the bolts as well? Part of me says that's dumb, but the other part of me would rather spend the money on new bolts than run the risk of having to pull the trans a 4th time.

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

Looks like I can get a new bellhousing for <200, so I think that's going to be my next move. Don't have it in me to pull the trans for the 3rd time just yet, so it might be a little while. Upper oil pan is still leaking too, so I'll do them both together whenever i get up the energy to tear it...

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

The pump bolt that appears to be leaking has the factory rubber washer on it already, and I put RTV under the head of all the case bolts, including the one that looks like it's leaking. I also put thread sealer on all of the pump and case bolts. That's why I'm at a loss. The area under the...

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

Yes. The worst of it appears to be coming from one of the pump bolts on the lower passenger side, but there's a little bit of fluid around one of the driver side case bolts as well.

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

Well the trans is still leaking. I'm at a loss. Only thing I can think at this point is to replace the converter housing.

Upper oil pan leak, or other leaks?

Spoke too soon. Seems that the upper pan seal is indeed still leaking, looks like in two places. Damn. Guess I get to tear it apart again, lucky me. This one is dripping down onto the bottom of the upper pan. This one seems to be running backwards behind the starter, onto the top of the upper...

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

Crazy, I've been out of the loop for so long that I had no idea any of that was happening. Just read a few articles on it, explains a lot of what I've seen (or not seen) on several of the vendor sites. I'm not planning anything for this truck other than to keep it maintained and...

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

Hey there! I was truckless from 2015 til now. Good to be back around and see some familiar names ? Seems quite a bit slower around here than what I remember

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

Ended up putting thread sealer on the bolts and RTV under the bolt heads. After driving 200 miles there is no new fluid inside the case that I can see. Crossing fingers this is fixed now.

Upper oil pan leak, or other leaks?

Now have about 200 or so miles on the truck...it would appear that the leaks are fixed (knock on wood).

Upper oil pan leak, or other leaks?

My wife thinks I'm insane. So there's that :ROFLMAO: How have you been? What ever came of your 1/2 ton swap project? Gotcha, that makes sense. I can handle that, just HATE drips. With a passion. Truck is on the road again, just went for a short test drive. Need to check fluid levels now and...

Upper oil pan leak, or other leaks?

Thanks, decided not to pull the upper pan based on thinking through your recommendation. Busy last week and weekend. Truck now has new front axle seals, new water pump, new front main seal, new oil cooler seals, RTV under trans bolt heads (they were seeping too), new converter seal. It's all...

Upper oil pan leak, or other leaks?

Now that I'm looking at these pics blown up, I'm thinking the upper pan is ok. Still curious what others think though.

Upper oil pan leak, or other leaks?

Morning everyone. I'm chasing what I thought was an upper oil pan leak on my LBZ truck, but now that I have everything (except the oil pans) out of the way and can see better, I'm not so sure that's what it is. This started with the lower pan being wet. I pulled that last weekend and resealed...

Dowty (bonded seal) washers vs copper washers - converter housing bolts

The description on the washers I was looking at says they are "oil resistant NBR". There's no temperature rating on them, but I googled NBR temperature ratings and came up with the 225-250 number. Another thing I jus trealized...the M10 bolts have a shoulder on them that's about 21mm in...
