    Old vs new Allison 1000

Friend has an older 2003 Kodiak and needs a transmission I happen to have one out of my 07 we are wondering what it would take to make the newer one work. One difference we found was the NSBU is on the shifter cable and mine is not.

    Making trans cooler lines

All the cooler lines are -10 the inlet into the cooler is a -12 ORB that has a -10 adapter in it. So one interesting fact is the ports on the bottom of the Allison in the Kodiak are -8 thread. The radiator is 7/8 14 so -10.

    Making trans cooler lines

Went to the local hose and fitting place and got all the stuff for my new lines, and went with Parker 836 its a Push lock hose 300 degrees and 350 psi. Decided to make a few adapters for the radiator.

    Making trans cooler lines

Yeah the hose is perfect for a 37* AN Flare its 5/8ths so simple flare to female should be good to go for making lines that are part hard line and part soft. *Does anyone know what size the adapters are on the transmission? I put a 1 1/4 12 point on there and it was too small. I wonder if it...

    Second cooler

What would you suggest if your truck does have the front air to air? Add a second one on the return side like you talked about or replacing the primary one up front with what seems to be a bigger cooler. If putting a cooler up front would it be better to put the inlet and outlet horizontal so...

    Second cooler

    Second cooler

Does anyone have dimensions of MikeL Cooler? The cooler I built is 12x12x2, I think it should hold a fair amount of fluid and cool pretty good.

    Second cooler

The plan was to add one of the coolers I built 12x12x2 under the truck with a fan right inline on the > To cooler side of the transmission, keeping the one up front in the picture. i think the ones on the Kodiak are bigger than the MikeL units used on HD trucks. Ill have to contact the maker of...

    Second cooler

Would it hurt the transmission to add a second cooler inline maybe under the truck to help take some load off? Trying to help keep the coolant temps down along with the trans temps when towing.

"OFFICIAL" What did you do to your D-Max today?

Working on my engine transmission swap. Being a Kodiak all the parts that would be slam dunk on the trucks is custom. Y bridge, Turbo inlet, always something custom.

Full Power train replacement first start up.

Im almost ready to start my truck after doing a full power train replacement. 230k engine and trans came out and a 73k engine and trans went in. Both motors were the same out of Kodiaks and everything has plugged in and seems ready to go. Now my question is around the ECU and TCU I kept the...

    oil temp sensor install

Bringing this back, if you are using the top of the oil filter housing for oil temp readings and you add an external cooler via sandwich adapter are you going to see the oil temps drop on your gauge? If you use that spot what spot would you use for oil pressure?

    Turbo Inlet's

Perfect, does it clear with the aftermarket ones? Like an S&B LLY one?

    Turbo Inlet's

I must be having this issue because of the Kodiak inlet, It might just be easier to put a truck one on, or an aftermarket one. Seems like plenty of guys have Y Bridges and this works fine. If it was an inch longer id be set. I honestly don't want to pull the bridge because if I do a HSP or...
