Picked up a doodge today for a little side work. Egr issues, plugged dpf, possible stuck vgt, blown exhaust manifold gaskets.
Old green machine hauled it like a champ with the 2500us tune

No, my truck came from Tennessee initially but I bought it from a guy just outside Orlando. The scout came from New Mexico 6 years ago.

All of the IH engines from back in the day were torque monsters. A buddy had a scout with the 345 that was unstoppable. My dad and I restored this, its got a 304/4spd. Lots of toque, but she's wrapped up by 4k rpms.

That is a sweet truck. I'd love to have found a crew to build. But my single cab will keep me busy enough.
So I did a little measuring today. I'm going to have to shorten the GMC frame by 12" to match the IH wheelbase. Shouldn't be too bad. Rough engine measurements look like height will be...
So I bought the truck on top sight unseen because it seemed like a deal and I was hoping for a quick flip. It was not as good as I'd hoped. There is rust in the cab and doors. And the engine is not salvageable. I have a useable core but it will likely need bored. So basically to fix the rust and...
Mine got this up to 60mph almost as well as my lly. After 60 she was working hard though. Mpt 93 Oct tow tune. It just didn't feel stable in corners or stopping unless the trailer brakes were set way aggressive.

I had a 15 and loved it. Once I got it tuned it was an animal. I used mpt down here in central fl. Fuel mileage wasn't great but I drove it pretty spirited. Pretty much have to run 93 octane with any kind of performance tune. Only reason I got rid of mine was it didn't have the weight to stop...
It must have been driven with a bad injector for a very long time. I've got another block that might clean up with a hone, .020 bore at most. I was really hoping to just slip a new piston in it and a set of injectors. Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Might do some Frankensteining with my...
Front diff swap and an idler arm yesterday afternoon. Not fun when the original had been puking gear oil at an alarming rate the past 1500 miles.

I will have to pull the head on the drivers side anyway. It either has a cracked or melted piston. Good to know they aren't much different and I can just get rid of the egr with federal parts

Picked up this gem for a steal. #4 has a piston issue but the truck is super clean. 04 Cali Lb7. Haven't decided if I'm going to lly swap or go federal lb7 with SAC injectors.
Anyone know the difference from federal to cali heads?

First pic the mud truck and trailer belonged to a buddy. He told me all the tires and air were good and we could just hook up and go. We had 2 blow outs and no spares about 15 miles from the mud hole. Got to do what you got to do when you're in the woods. [emoji2]
Brakes didn't work worth a...
In fl we pretty much never get picked on as long as we don't have commercial markings.
This probably grosses close to 30k
This is probably 23kish gross

Anyone ever seen a 6.0 with a split nozzle? Done several of those. Crazy smoke and knock. Even seen a couple bad enough to hydrolock an engine. I also did an lly once that I would have sworn had a rod knock. Very metallic knock and no smoke. Injector fixed it though
