    2005 2500 puzzle

Definitely the older LLY with the 5 speed allison(external gear position sensor is the give-away), as long as the original BCM stayed in place you shouldn't have any issues. And at 220k you'd be crazy not to install a new water pump and front main seal now...it's an absolute bitch of a job when...

    2005 2500 puzzle

How many miles does this package have on it? I wouldn't assemble any more until you get it running. If more than 100k miles I'd get a new water pump and front main seal in that thing. How did the LBZ come into this? Was it a swap that was started and not finished? Does the truck have it's...

Glad to see you back on it...I took 6 weeks off on mine but dug back into it this weekend! That cooler set up should work well for you with your seasonal extremes.

    04 6.0 to lb7 swap problem.. help

Fuse box will have to be changed to the LB7(or modified to match), you probably are missing power to the Allison TCM, LB7 throttle pedal is needed, get someone to turn off the VATS in the tune to eliminate that from the equation.

    2008 body on 2002 lb7/zf6 2500hd chassis?

If you don't mind doing a standalone harness and then just run an Edge CTS Monitor for gauges then it can work. The difference in the computers and what is communicated via CL2 and GM High Speed LAN data between these two is dramatic.

    2008 body on 2002 lb7/zf6 2500hd chassis?

It's a lot more than you think...there is very little in common. I take on some odd projects and I can tell you there's no way I'd do this for a pickup...you'd be miles better off buying an LLY or LBZ powered truck.. If you were building something that isn't otherwise available (duramax suburban...

2000 2500 350 to duramax swap? How hard could it be?

I agree, go stand alone and use an Edge CTS2 Monitor to see what your stock dash won't display. If you're going LBZ 6sp Allison you can wire up a momentary switch with the correct resistors to use tapshift. Tow/Haul mode is tougher to solve, I'd just run a mild tow tune for daily driving or get...

2000 2500 350 to duramax swap? How hard could it be?

it's a lot, you'd be way better off buying a duramax truck...the electrical / computer systems are completely different even to get to the early LB7 version...if your truck was 2 years newer(and had a 6.0 vortec) it'd be a different story..

I was going to say "perfect time to do the rear main seal" but I remembered you said you were going to pull this apart and do studs/gaskets...just as easy to do it then..

    Crank, no start LBZ swap

Posting in in mPA is why everyone missed it...I didn't bother to convert it to psi until just now, yes, 1500psi is considered the proper starting pressure, less is usually a sign of worn/bypassing injectors but of course a leaking hard line give the same symptom...be thankful you have an LBZ now...

I think that given the cold winters you get where you are that using the radiator cooler is a good idea, I don't think the thermostat would be necessary though, it's just another part that can fail. I'd try it without the thermostat first and if its a problem when really cold just use a winter...

Looks good...and the more pics the better; the express/savana van community has a lot of catching up to do with Ford E-series when it comes to builds/mods.

Glad to see that link helped out...it is a killer deal on that system. I'm on travel this weekend and have guest in town for T-Giving so no progress for me for two weeks.

I cut down/mocked up my rear driveshaft today. I used/modified the 2 piece driveshaft and carrier mount from my cutaway van and just cut down the front half (for mock up purposes only). I'll get it retubed and balanced later.

I'm thinking about cutting and flaring the input fuel tubes on the engine and just coming off them with a 90dg fitting to get them out of the way. I already got rid of the egr completely and cut and capped the up tube. I still will need to customize the dipstick tube and buy some fore/aft...

gotcha...I haven't put my cutaway cab on yet to see where mine falls. Hopefully between the extra angle and small body lift I'll clear it completely..

Is the reason for the height to keep the same pinion elevation as the 4l80e had? Just curious why you didn't just lower the rear of the allison and leave the floor uncut?

If I had realized the factory cross member was dual layered and had that nasty black wax/paint between the layers I would have started from scratch as well, by the time I figured it out I was already invested in modifying it... Haven't looked at the shifter cable/mount yet. I've got to sort out...

I was working my cross member today as well, I chopped out the entire raised center section and dropped the trans down, I'm increasing the drive train (downward angle) to 7dg, this will help my drive line angles and give me some more breathing room to the floor. Still a bit of work to do on it..
