Ok, I wasn't positive on this number but at least I know I didn't have a problem there I also didn't know exact pins I was in cause I couldn't get a breakdown of the datalink. The 30ish was me just goin from pin to pin. How many terminating resistors are there?
Correct, I believe the reading I got from these pins was 30ish ohms, this would be for the terminating resistor. Sounds like that may be your issue yellowchevy. Also just another heads up on the same chassis, i worked on this truck a few months ago for an airbag fault and found on the passenger...
Thought I'd give you guys an update and a fix. Traced and ohmed all wires and pins for the GMLAN data link found no broken or chaffed wires, checked all powers and grounds at tcm, replaced tcm, FIXED!!!!!!
Wow, they let you work on that American garbage in their sophisticated high class shop? Figured that shop would've been to good for one of our trucks to sit in.
Hey guys, workin on an 08 chevy topkick/c series ambulance with an lmm. Showed up customer said truck would not go over 45, speedometer doesn't work and check engine light. I pull it in, hook up my Mac scanner and find a u1000, u0101 and u0106. 1 was ECM lost communication to tcm, next was ECM...
Hey guys, I've got a buddy who has a aurora 5000 sittin on the shelf collecting dust and is willing to sell this thing to me for next to nothing. I'm wondering how well this thing would perform on a stock fueled lb7 with a lift pump, or is this even possible. Don't really want a dog of a truck...
I did a lot of research on tuning. I bought starlites basic and advanced books, have asked a lot of questions, and tons of reading. The books definitely helped a lot. Also there are tunes out there people load up for us to use, don't steal/copy and paste their stuff but learn from it. I've been...
Yeah I'm not in a hurry to do it so I can buy piece by piece. I have a stock trans so I know the 66 will take care of that so while buying pieces at a time or finding a inexpensive kit I can save for the tranny build.
Was wondering how much it would run to set up a 366 on my lb7. Basically buying a pre-made pedestal and supplying the rest or would it be cheaper to just buy a kit? If so who has the best deals on a kit? Or maybe does anyone have a used kit for sale for a decent price? Thanks guys
Definetely balance the crank when doing different rods. There's an obvious weight difference when changing rods. It would be like putting tire weights on and not balancing a tire. On top of that I would not risk re-using the rings. If you do all that work and find you're burning oil or have...
I'd pretty much garuntee a clogged heater core. Drain coolant, remove lines going to heater core at firewall and use high pressure water to flush. Go both ways with the water flow. At idle water flow isn't excessive, more rpm = faster/more volume of water moving from water pump speed, had this...
#6 does look like junk but so does 3 that he hasn't replaced yet. Very well could need a compression check on 6. Could also be a bad tank of fuel. To the op try throwing 2qts of ATF in the fuel. A lot of people don't agree with this but a lot of people do agree with this. Me personally I have...
^ correct but it's something to try if only checking balance rates and not doing a return test. Threads gone on to long anyways just to find all 8 should've been replaced from the get go. Not to be a weiner to the op but you can read for days on this same issue. It's the Black Plague for lb7's.
Need to see them after the replacement. Like already said where are the injectors from, I've gotten away changing individual injectors but they are always Bosch oem. It has also happened to where an opposing cylinder has given a bad balance rate to another cylinder.
