how to do a bottle test

7 Attachment(s)
:alcoholic:
tools required:

1- 500ml plastic pop bottle
1- 3' to 6' 3/8" hose
1 - 3/8" hose clamp
needle nose pliers
a drill to make a hole in the cap big enough to insert the 3/8" hose

Ok as you can see in the pics on the drivers side fuel rail near the firewall
there is a horse shoe shaped 3/8" hose close to the glow plug bracket

dissconect the hose closest to the drivers side where it comes out of the fuel rail using a set of needle nose pliers

then simply hook up your new hose and clamp it tight and plug the other hose

run the hose to somewhere that the bottle can be mounted tightly if your hose is long enough you can mount it between the coolant tank and airbox this really doesnt matter just as long as you can have the bottle standing in a up right posistion

now close the hood and jump in the truck and go for a spin:driving:
and i mean a good spin a couple good wide open throttle runs

after you do this pop the hood and check the bottle, If its empty your good
if it has any fuel in it:eek: you NOT good this means that your fuel rail pop valve is leaking and you will then need to either shim the valve or install a race valve

uninstall the bottle tester and hook your factory hose back up to the fuel rail

Should be Mitch
It might be under the glow plug controller
Something I think i forgot to mention is you will also want to plug the other side of the hose....perhaps use a bolt and a hose clamp

Figured that much but thanks. ;)
