Alrighty. Lets dredge this up again, shall we?
Cabin filters were initially just going to be a write up from when Jeff (CrazyDaze) and I installed them in our trucks in his driveway. Then, bc of people asking me, it became a kit. Sold about 100-120 kits total. Then, some guy in NC copied everything as his own. Even used my directions. You could tell they were mine bc I had a blue cast on my hand in the pics. There wasnt anything special about the kit, but damnit, that wasnt cool.
After that, I decided to just post everything on the Place for free, and that was that.

The PDF instructions do still work. Dont use the giant one-piece filters. They fold when trying to install, due to the angle of the floorboards.
Use the same filters the 01-02 trucks use. Much easier to install.

Guy didnt know he was late to the game, same as the guy in Joe's link on PT, which is ok.
But that thread is where I found out about the GM and Dorman kits. Good info.
Now that I think about it (its been a minute or two), the rare alternate HVAC system that I was referring to was similar to the 01-02 design, but the recessed boss for the filters wrapped up the front to a screw boss up where the "hook" is in those pics, and the "hook" was in the bottom rear like the how the kits were made. I remember trying to bend the aluminum covers to fit, but could never get the curve correct, and so it wouldnt seal. I even tried using the flat cover with a long screw/tube setup to hold it, but the housing cuts had to be perfect, and it didnt work. Jeff ended up using duct tape, IIRC.
