    low brake fluid

Well, pads are worn, not enough to worry about changing yet, but worn more than when purchased. Still n o visible leaks, even with the metal lines. Will fill and watch... thanks much for the help - kip

    low brake fluid

Thanks, I thought about that, but 1/2 the brake reservor is a lot of fluid. I've not looked at the pads... may be worth a look anyway. Thanks

    low brake fluid

My brake fluid was down by at least one half, from the "max" mark. I found no leaks at wheels, nor around the hose connections to the hydro boost or power steering pump. Where did it go? I had the hydro boost replaced about 8 months ago. The level seemed fine immediately afterward. Any ideas...

    Engine temperatures

OK, so my assumption is that the tempts my gauge is showing are fine. And when / if the gauge shows a significant increase. Someone mentioned the gauge reading 210 may actually be around 180; so when the gauge reads around 180 - 190 is the actual tempt still about 30 degrees lower? What is the...

    2006 Chevrolet 2500hd silverado

Found the truck at a local dealership, with 304,789 miles on it. Truck was a one owner and in beautiful condition. We took a risk with the miles and so far have not been sorry. Has a white exterior, and dark tan/brown interior with cloth seats and carpet. It was missing three of it's...

    Engine temperatures

On a trip home (central Fl.) from Atlanta, after about 6-7 hours of constant driving, the engine temp crept up from around 180 to maybe 190'ish, and then stayed there for the rest of the trip home. I realize these are not "hot" temps nor are they dangerous. My curiosity was in why it climbed...

    Newbie question concerning ride quality

I lowered the air pressure as a start, and it drove much better. When I am able to have the front aligned, I'll drop the front of the truck, just a small amount. I finally discovered the location of the bolts that adjusted the torsion bar, at the end of the bar, located in the mid section of...

    Newbie question concerning ride quality

Lowered the tire pressures, and much of the hard bounce is gone. Tires are down to 50 on the rear, and 58 on fronts. Will drop the rears more tomorrow as well as the fronts. Did not mess with the bolt on the lower a-arms. Actually the only bolt I could find was located on the rear side of...

    Newbie question concerning ride quality

Yes, I can take a picture of the cv's - now, I boldly assume you are talking about the axles into the front wheels... How would i lower the front? If it's raised, then it is not "stock"?

    Newbie question concerning ride quality

tires are at 70 psi - nitro filled; truck sets level all the time - I assume due to 4 wheel drive; shocks are "Rancho" from local auto parts store. Tires are 265's.

    Newbie question concerning ride quality

Should also mention that it is a 4x4.

    Newbie question concerning ride quality

My assumption is no. Not sure what "key cranked" means??? But the truck is pure stock.

    Newbie question concerning ride quality

'06, Silverado 2500, LS, 330K miles - rides bouncy constantly. I put new shocks on when purchased, still rides bouncy. Is this because of the truck's size (2500 vrs 1500?). We tow a camper with it, and with the camper on, the bounce is greatly, if not completely gone. I have yet to check the...

    Loss of brakes when towing

Checked the pulley with engine off and on, all seems fine. No visible leaks anywhere... Is the engine tempt and the ambient air tempt under the hood when towing (also used the tow mode when this happened twice) what causes the fluid to boil, if boiling is the cause? I would assume it...
