LMM long block in LLY
Been looking it up and I got no straight answer but anyways if I take a LMM long block and swap the turbo and injectors with a LLY can I run that motor in a LLY truck? Blocks are practically the same and I read the heads are interchangeable but will require a larger washer for the LLY injectors... -
Humming noise
The rear end isn’t the factory one. I replaced it when I swapped my truck from a dually to a single. So somebody may have rebuilt it and didn’t do it correctly but I don’t know. Ive been running it and it’s been fine it’s just the contact pattern on the gears aren’t the greatest so they hum.- Diezel

Yeah popped the rear diff cover and instantly saw it. Pinion shims are wrong and gears have a horrible contact pattern so they hum and whine- Diezel

Decent build?
This sound like a solid 600-650hp build but still have room for growth? Just wanna keep the bottom end happy. I plan on running a stock crank with delipped LB7 pistons, Carrillo rods all balanced with a fluid damper up front and SoCal billet flex plate out back, head studs and 40% over injectors...- Diezel

I also read of someone having a similar issue and it turned out to be his FPR. Does this sound like right? My truck does have a surge at idle but kept putting it off- Diezel

I’m beginning to suspect the rear end, I have ruled out almost everything else. Front diff, transfer case. Wheel bearings. List goes on. I’ll have to crack the cover on the rear to check but zero play in the yoke when trying to check for play in the outer pinion bearing. I did have a pinion...- Diezel

Humming noise
I just noticed a slight humming noise when accelerating and when I step off the gas it dulls out. I did some research and saw that the front diff could be the issue so I drained it and nothing but shavings and some chucks came out so I replaced the whole this and still have the noise. Help: Tail lights constant power?
Sorry for late response everytime I tried to post I’d get logged out and I ended up getting pissed and gave up. anyways no built in resistors I wired in two 6ohm resistors, 1 per side. It helped a bit but they are still very dim. I hooked up my multimeter and I have about 2milli amps on the...- Diezel

Help: Tail lights constant power?
I made a flatbed for my truck and for the taillights I am using the 6" oval LEDs (2 per side) got them wired in and they function as they should but when i shut the truck down there are 4 LEDs in the center of all the lights that stay dimly lite. I can pull the 10a fuse for the brake/turn signal...- Diezel

Speedometer
I called PPEI yesterday and was told everything should work as with fooling the tranny to be in neutral but will need a tune to get the DTCs to go away. Gunna start sourcing out a trans hopefully can’t find a ZF6 if not I’m go with a built NV4500 -

Know where I could find anymore info about it? I called a few tuners, and was told I would just need to get a tune to delete all the DTCs that will pop up. -

Sweet. Plan is to leave the TCM in place and set the NSBU to neutral and tie that up to the frame some where and then everything should work. -

That’s what I thought, long story short trying to get the speedometer to work without an Alison tranny. Planning on a Zf6 swap soon. It’s been done but I can’t find the info on how it was done. -

Can somebody school me on the workings of a 2008 Sierra speedometer. I read the transmission speed sensors send a signal to the TCM which relays to the ECM and then to the dash. is this correct? if so whats the point of the VSS on the transfer case?
