    New toy

Old school engines are cool. They can do things easier. They will never drive like an LS. Even with an aftermarket fuel injection. Parts are stupid easy to find. Stock truck parts will make plenty of power with just a cam and springs. There is all of the information in the world on swapping...

If you plan on actually driving it you will never regret the LS. I daily drive a FJ40 I swapped and is so good.

Man as much as I hate to be on the LS bandwagon.. Just LS swap it with the Tr4050. Put a cam in it and roll on. It’ll run so much better and be so much more drivable.

It’s a 5.3. I have a brand new GM piston here for it already. Dealer had it in stock

True story. Why we evolved past 6 speed transmissions just blows my mind. But it’s a money game anymore. Not a reliability game. Also the new trucks are huge. As I’m sure you know the limo probably feels small compared to the limo 2.0. Bring back v8 terrible fuel mileage reliable trucks...

Definitely planning to stay gas. I don’t need a diesel anymore. 10k will be the heaviest I tow anymore and it’ll be “short” distances. Plus emissions. I had a perfect Tundra. Sold it. Didn’t drive it because I couldn’t stand the seats. I put like 5,000 miles on it in a year. That truck would...

My biggest problem is I simply do not have time to work on my own stuff. I look for GMT800s often, all of them are ragged out or $30k and still a pile of crap. I’m at the point I need a truck. A buisness purchase, not for tax reasons because I need one. But what do you buy. Like I said...

I currently don’t own anything that’s less than 200k miles. Both good rigs are broken. Only running rig I have is my FJ40. Borrowing a shop car for the wife. Even 20k won’t buy you a decent rig. And a 50k rig isn’t any better than the 20k one. So I guess I’ll just not sleep and fix my two...

Does anyone else get tired of fixing their broken old shit and want to buy something newer? However you know that the newer stuff is junk and less reliable than the old shit you have to work on. First world problems

    Glow plugs

What’s the consensus here? Replace with oem as they fail? That’s what we have been doing but I also have not researched other options.
