Finished the body work on the firewall.

And primed it, then got it into the booth on Friday after work.

Sooo much masking...

Got the tranny tunnel and lower firewall undercoated, then painted everything satin black.

That's it for now. You can all guess what's getting painted next weekend...

I moved the motor into my work space friday after work, but couldn't do anymore because of dinner plans.

Saturday morning, started taking it apart and cleaning it.

After cleaning and prepping it the best I could, I masked off what needed to go black.

Then etched it.

And sprayed the satin black.

While I let that dry I ran into town to buy some white sealer for the next color.

Unmasked.

Etched.

Sealed white.

And sprayed Viper Red.

Came to work this morning and unmasked it.

I decided to polish the fuel rails and injection lines.

I had some time after work to sand and polish the compressor housing (cover) for the stock turbo. It's not perfect, but it will get the job done I think. The nooks and crannies were virtually impossible to sand all the imperfections out...

But it the shiniest stock VVT I've seen...

I also made a custom remote master battery disconnect using the gas cap and a moroso master battery disconnect switch.

I was able to finish the battery disconnect switch.

I also bought some head studs and installed those.

I reassembled most of the motor to see how it looks.

I made a late decision last Thursday to paint the body.

Here's a shot on Saturday after I pulled the doors off and was ready to finish sanding it.

Rolled it into the booth, jacked it up and removed the rear tires for masking.

Mixed my color, and proceeded to spray my favorite color, Viper Red.

A couple shots of it based out.

And cleared.

It's not 100% perfect, but still pretty darn straight for a street legal race car LOL

Waiting on parts to show up from Suncoast, and a few things from PPE, and a y bridge from Pro Fab. Lots to do, and very little time. I hate to say it, but it doesn't look like it will be running in time for the NHRDA event in Redding on the 18th. But I will keep plugging along. I will be driving it sooner than later.
