New addition to the family. Picked her up last week, was at a buddy's restoration shop getting an LS2 but since Im going with a Duramax I bought it as a roller. The owner bailed on the project after a bunch of work was completed. Frame off, rear frame c-notched for bags and set up with 4 link chevelle suspension, mustang 2 front clip, everything is brand new as far as suspension, wheels, tires, harness, chrome, glass. Most of the body work is completed, just needs some fine tuning. Needs Interior then the conversion.

I have an LB7/Ally combo ready here at the shop with a standalone harness ready to go. Hopefully I'll start putting some time into it soon. I'll keep this thread updated as it progress's. Going to pretty much be a cruiser, AC cruise control, air ride..... :)

You know I now hate you, Rick. So damn cool. Good luck on the transplant. Hope it goes smoothly.

Lol, you know next to my chevelle this body style is my favorite. I grew up driving a 58, and my chevelle was owned by a buddy of mine in high school. Now I have both high school vehicles that I would drive and ride in!!

I have been dreaming of this exact project with my 59 Apache. Of course I'd have to skip the junk LB7 and go LBZ. :roflmao:

I look forward to following the build and seeing what is needed to jam that engine in there. Also, curious if the weak stock frame will be an issue with Duramax weight and torque.

A year later we start on this project...... dropped her off at the body shop a couple weeks ago. Should be picking it up this weekend. Then we start fitting/mocking it all up.

Those dual front head light Apache trucks and Corvettes of the same year are my favorites of all the chevy vehicles produced...great project!
