Vac. pump on a 02 cali truck soumds like exhaust leak. can iI delete or do I need to replace EGR blocked and turned off with efi.

I would take the vac pump off and block egr and turn off with efi. That is what I would do if I had efi.
Mine did that for about a week...then the belt chirpped one morning, the noise went away and it's been fine eversince. Idle egt's went down and the CEL is on P0404. Been like that for almost 2 years now...

Mine has been doing it for a long time. going to remove the belt if that stops the noise it is going to go away.
When you removed did you have any issues How about pcv being in pump. did you remove and plug lines. I have turned off egr system with efi and blocked valve Remains for decoration.
No issues blockerplate on the exhaust up pipe, shut off cel with efi. Removed all other unneeded stuff.
