How many miles are you guys getting out of your tank? I have 2000 miles on the clock traveling to elpaso tx from San Diego and back round trip. And bam. Low fluid level.

I can't answer your question, but I'm curious about what kind of fuel mileage you're getting on your trip.

Never filled the truck till 7800 miles when the 300 mile warning came on. Which seemed right to me. EPA says the tank has to supply enough for an oil change which is 7500 miles on the dmax. So I filled it to the correct amount.

But I had heard of people usually going 4-6000 miles.

Well the other day at 12,200 miles the 300 mile warning came on. So I refilled it.

Makes me wonder if the dealer overfilled the tank. The tanks are built to allow for expansion. On our tractors the filler neck just has a ball float that plugs the neck when its full. Then it burps back. The truck did the same. But I know you can still keep trying to fill it and it will go in, just much slower.

Well so far with about 5000 in tow at 75 I'm seeing 14 I'm recording so I'll know more when I'm done in the morning. In the mountains I saw 9.5 on my first tank leaving sandiego into Yuma

Dad has 7,xxx right now. Hasn't had to refill urea yet. Also, has not towed yet but that will change soon. Hand calculated mileage has been 15-18 so far... This is a 2012 though. I remember reading there were some changes made to the urea injection...

Yeah I'm at 2290 miles and my message board flashed saying I have 300 miles. Luckily before I started my trip I grabbed four gallons of it. Also my oil life is reading 61%

My refills as follows:

6800, 9800, 13200, and about 17K tomorrow because I got the 300 mile warning.

Just got 518 miles to a 31 gallon fill up. That's 16.7 MPG. The best yet. Total interstate..

We were a little dissapointed with the MPG s being around 14-15 mixed city/highway at first. But when you think about it, compared to our lb7s that get a few mpgs. Better when stock, this truck does have 245ft-lb more torque and 97 more HP. Plus its bigger and is more emissions choked even though the scr system does allow the engine itself to run much more efficient.

I've used maybe 4 gallons in 8800 miles. No towing. My mileage is 13.0 in the city ( 5 miles to work stop and go ) and the only long trip I made was to phoenix last year and got a little better than 18.
I had Robert (RKTmech) install a new tune along with new urea tank and updated flash this week and we will see if there's a difference. The new tune has more power, better trans shifting and just all around smoother feel.

Is that the tune from my truck or is there something better?

If you have a late build date it won't help you. My build date is 07/10. I also don't think a dealer will do it for you as GM will frown on it. You need to know someone at the dealership.

Well total trip from my house in vista to elpaso and back was 1444.8 miles I left Wednesday at 0300 and got back this morning at 0307. I use 105 gallons total trip so average for the trip was 13.76. That was going as fast as I could plus a hour idle time. My best freeway only hand calculated empty was 17.6

I wish somebody could at least tune the throttle tables. The trucks have a lot of power and get up and go but the throttle scaling makes them seem nutless.
