Hey guys need a little help here. Took my MAF sensor off the other day to clean along with my air filter. Put it back in, go to start my truck, and the glow plug light wasnt turning off. Gave it plenty of time. Finally decided to start it and it starts fine no problem. Looked up the code through the CTS, and its U0106 glow plug control module loss of communication. I can delete the codes, but they come back quickly. Less than 5 minutes. Now does the loss of communication mean a fuse/relay popped, or can the code appear if the module fails as well? Obviously when I have time the first thing I will check are the easy fuse/relay items, but have a feeling that isnt the problem. I thought I remember reading that if the module is bad and the glow plugs stay on too long, the tip can break off and fall into the cylinders. Any truth to that? If fuses/relay check out do I bite the bullet and replace the module, or is there some sort of test that can be done on it with a multimeter? Im guessing the part is pretty accessible and easy to swap out, but Ill let you guys chime in on that one too. The truck is a 04.5 LLY with efi. Thanks in advance.

Also let me know if I submitted into wrong sub forum.

Fairly common for the GP control module to fail, I just replaced mine about 2 months ago after getting tired of seeing tha CEL light on all the time. I found an OEM Bosch one on ebay for $83 USD, works fine, no more light. Check the connections first, there is a lot of current flowing though it when the glowplugs turn on.
