Well I'm not sure what caused this but I'm guessing it has to do with my plow I just recently put a Meyer 8.5 straight blade on, and my front end sags quite a bit. When I woke up Saturday and looked outside I saw my truck leaning, and when I went inspected it, I found this on the drivers side! I'm almost scared to have the plow now, to always worry about my torsion bars breaking.... Is there anything I can do to help beef up the front end, I was looking at some Fire Stone Ride Rite front air shocks but they cost nearly a grand!

well for one, i wouldnt be leaving the plow up all night letting the truck take the full weight of it.

your also missing all of your yellow jouce bumper

a set of these will help you out alot

I always put my plow down at night, or even take it off, that night the plow was all the way down and I had kept it on because it's snowing all week, I found it weird that it broke then, the bump stop is there its just compressed down to nothing. I've heard people say timbrens are good and bad, maybe I should give them a go!

The length is the same not the torque rating.

With a bit of reading though, which really confuses me is that the donor truck is a 2005 Avalanche 1500, and when i looked up part numbers on gmpartsdirect.com they both have the same part number...

FRONT SUSPENSION/FRONT SUSPENSION FOR 2004 GMC SIERRA 3500
15528958 TORSION BAR
ALL MODELS; 4WD; RIGHT

9 15528957 TORSION BAR
ALL MODELS; 4WD; LEFT

FRONT SUSPENSION/FRONT SUSPENSION FOR 2005 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1500
9 15528957 TORSION BAR
ALL MODELS; 4WD; LEFT

9 15528958 TORSION BAR
ALL MODELS; 2WD; RIGHT

hmm

I wonder if the keys have the same part number. The HD could just have more preload

The plow set ups I've seen use suspension stops on the front to basically make it rigid when the plow is up.

Yeah I will probably buy some timbrens, to help the sag, but I don't have the donor part in hand yet, just pictures. and I don't see any of those codes on it, I am worried that the donor 2005 avalance 1500 torsion bar will not be good for the 3500, even though they have the same part number on gmpartsdirect.com

Don't think you should worry about the plow. Think the torsion bar just hated life. I have a fisher v plow with the keys turned all the way up for over 4 years no with no issues.
