With the transfer case in 4hi I seem to have lots of axial play in my front driveline. Seems serious either way so I'd rather start chasing in the right direction. See the vid (sorry about the Fass running in the background)
On a side note and possibly related - while using cruise control at about 70mph, while going downhill I noticed today a subtle surging or bumping like there's slack in the rear end, but the rear drive shaft is tight, no play. Now that I'm thinking about it this makes it sound like I need to start inside the transfer case.
