What are some opinions on these chargers? Mainly driveability, I am worried my truck may have trouble spooling. Dont plan on towing, just street driving and Pulling. Any thoughts are welcome;)

Everything depends on the exhaust wheel. I would run a .90 housing on whatever you decide. You can get a 83 wheel that will spool great but has issues above 3500 rpms with drive pressure. You can get a 87mm wheel that is harder to spool but is still tollerable and has a better map higher in the rpm range or you can get a 96mm wheel which is very hard to spool but has the best map for higher rpms and can flow the greatest.

I run a 474 with a 87mm wheel and .90 housing. You cannot tow much with this charger but the street-ability of this charger is not that bad.

If you can wait a while I will be selling this charger this winter:D

Travis is dead on with his description. I have an S475 with am 83mm turbine wheel and have run a .9 and 1.0 housing on it. With the .9 it was extremely streetable and towed another DMax on a trailer just fine. It made 821hp on rough tuning and ran an 11.18. I went to the 1.0 housing and the streetability wasn't affected much at all - it moved my RPM band up about 200 RPM. My next step would be to step up to the 87mm turbine in a .9 housing.

Winston's truck has an S472 with an 83mm turbine in a 1.1 housing since he had nitrous. We towed my truck to Florida and back with it and it towed just fine and was very streetable as well.

I favor the 1.1x size housings with that size charger to get better high RPM performance.

If you are talking about a Garrett GT42 the S400s are a whole different deal. Anyone that is used to running Garrett stuff will tell you that .9 is "WAY TOO TIGHT". I have played with .9, 1.0, and 1.1 housings on 83mm turbines and know that Travis has played around even more with different wheel sizes. The .9 on an S400 will act like a GT42 with between a 1.06 and 1.15 housing. The 1.1 acts more like a 1.3 would on a GT42.

Thanks for the info:thumb:

I would love to buy your charger but I probably wont buy one until summer depending on the $$ situation, i have come to realize my stock charger is only so much fun and if i am going to drop the money on a turbo i want something that will take me a while to out grow

True or False.

The S472, as listed, as far as streetable A/R's are concerned...comes in a T4 with .9 A/R or a T6 with a .8 A/R :confused::confused::confused:
