I've had my 2011 duramax 2500 for just over 2 years now and I can see the light at the end of the warranty tunnel.
I bought the truck in February of 2012 with 50,000km on it and I'm up to 120,000km now. I use it to tow my 7x21 enclosed trailer for racing superbikes so nothing overly heavy (5,000lbs) but I'd hate to do it in my previous truck which was an 05 1500 gmc with a 5.3L.
I've recently installed a FASS 150 for the main purpose of keeping my CP4 alive and throughout the summer I'll be collecting the parts to do a CP3 conversion as well as deleting the DPF/CAT and some mild tuning via efi live. I've already installed an edge CTS to keep an eye on things. Eventually I'd like to go with a BMW GT3794va and tranny with an end goal of 550-600hp but that will have to wait until my racing slows down. One expensive hobby is plenty for now.
