They are called pillow block bearings. I get mine from cooksaw.com.

Nice! That design would adapt nicely to a collapsable model on casters

Here is my engine stand.

Ive since added a gear and worm drive. The reason I added a worm drive is because it gives lots of mechanical advantage, and it cant "run away" on you if you let go of the crank handle.

Was that stand pretty sturdy for torquing everything down in? Even the flywheel/crank bolts??

I made mine to the OP's specs, sadly I don't have it at my house, but it was sturdy enough for torqueing the heads, flywheel and the balancer.. :thumb:

Okay cool. I'm pulling the engine right now, I don't feel like taking all that bs off just to put it on a stand. All I plan on doing is head removal and injectors.

c to c across the bottom is 4.42
