Im bored this afternoon and thought I would do a quick thread on my trucks progression over the years. I bought my 2004 lb7 in 2010 a few days after I turned 19 and have spent way too much time and money over the years but dont regret a thing. I bought it wrecked and paid cash for it and every mod over the years so thats why it took so long to get it to where it is today. LOL. Everything except the actual trans build was done by me and my buddies which is a great feeling!
The day I picked it up at a salvage lot in NC. Me and a buddy drove down and picked it up in this state.

Started tearing it apart before I even unloaded it.

Turns out the frame was bent :( I took it to a guy I knew who was a retired body and frame guy and he got that fixed for a great price and did a awesome job!

Bought a complete white 06 front clip off a guy on duramaxforum and got it all back together! Also got it tinted a color matched shortly after that.

My first performance mods were gauges and stock trans safe idahorob tunes. Well a total of three trans limps later and it would barely move without limping. Pulled the trans and had a friend of mine who is an Allison tech build it with a PPE stage 4 kit and ML converer. Had a faulty converter flow valve so it came back out right away to get that replaced and its been holding good for 3 years now.
A couple months after that I raced a motorcycle till the speedometer quit moving and after that it had a lot of pressure in the cooling system. Lol. So I tore it down and did head gaskets and studs but I was sort of tight for money so I didnt do a valve job, big mistake there! I drove it for like a day and it started popping through the intake. I had a intake valve on the passenger side not seating, pulled that head back off and decided that while I was in there again I was gonna put a bigger turbo on. A S366 kit from Trent Nell was installed when it went back together! All waa good for a year or so till it started starting hard in the winter and the engine was noisy. Picked up a set of very low mile injectors from Evan at limitless diesel and sent the tips to extrude hone and got them punched out to 30% over. Pulled it in after work one night and backed it out the same night thanks to help from friends and monster. Lol. That included 2 injector cups pulling out and dropping the injector bore cleaning brush into the cylinder 0_0

I decided that that was as far as I wanted to go performance wise unless I get rich! Bought some h2 wheels off here and then a set of chrome wheels off Craigslist but didnt really like either of those. A buddy of mine offered to sell me his BMF Novakanes with tires for a great price and I couldnt pass it up..

And thats about it as far as major changes go! It has been a lot of fun and ive had a lot of good times and made a lot of memories driving and working on it, it actually helped me meet my amazing wife which is a lot to ask from a truck. I couldnt have done it without my help from my friends and info from great websites like this!

Sorry man hope you get it up and running soon. On a brighter note time for a roll pan!!:thumb:
I thought about that but I just don't quite like how they look from the side. Plus I get in the bed of my truck too much. At least I get some fresh paint for free, it was starting to get some rock chips and a couple small dents. The funny thing was that it was actually a real good friend who has helped me out a bunch working on my truck and other projects who hit me. He acted like he wanted to cry. lol
