hey everybody,

im running a 05 ecsb 4wd. i bought the truck about a year and a half ago. i bought it and it had a pro comp lift on it. it was set up for about a 6'' lift. i wanted it leveled so i pulled the 4" blocks and add a leafs from the rear and put 2" blocks back in it. i lowered my t-bars down to sit level and my cv axles are almost flat. and i mean almost flat, like i should go ahead and say they are flat. but im wanting to go slightly lower. im starting to get past the lifted stage of my daily driver and im playing with the drag racing idea pretty hard. im running 315s on some helo wheels but i have a set of h2s that are getting powder coated. i live on a farm so i pull trailers alot. hauling tractors, hay, and cows. from time to time i have to haul a buddies truck too :D but is there any place that anyone knows of that has the drop bracket for the front diff that is like half the size of what came with this lift? or do i have any other options that i dont realize? any help or info would help abunch!!!

thanks alot!

I think cognito makes a braket that fixes the front differential problem (the piece that gets cut off) I'd say look into the 4 inch lifts and see if they can work with mods that were done with the pro comp kit

They shouldn't have cut the ears off at all. The ears should have been trimmed on the bottom side and the ears woudln't be cut off the front differential either. It wouldn't be a hard fix except that you say they welded the control arm brackets. It will be time consuming but worth it if drag racing is your priority.

I thought they just put brackets to lower the control arm since it's not a spindle lift. Didn't realize they cut the original brackets off. Well IMO if you lower it as much as possible and throw some 33 under there, it will look sweet. Do you have sleeves and braces for your front end?

i have the sleeves. and i figure the braces will be coming soon. im saving now for a tranny and efi to play with. is there any reason why i shouldnt let the cv shafts go negative? and im pretty sure that they cut a ear or 2 off the frame. i will look again but ive been under there alot. but drag racing isnt my main priority in the trucks use.

I have a 6" tuff country lift that I'm going to drop a hair. It's on 33X12.50"R18s right now and don't look bad but I'm bringing it down for pulling season. I'll post pics in a minute

I have a 6" Zone lift that I lowered to around 4" when I was at the strip. CV angle was negative and it launched great! It looked pretty good with those 35s sitting up in the fender well too. I also have a really good steering kit so it holds those big wheels and tires nice and straight. The 6" Pro Comp seems to sit really high compared to other lifts. So even cranked down to 4" your still gonna be able to clear 35s pretty easy.

When you lower your 6" to 4" does your front end float alot. I lowered mine and the front end seems like it has no shocks on it. I put on new shocks and it didn't help. Are there stiffer shocks?

yes mine floats like crazy!!! its like i have jelly in the shocks! but im running 315s now with no clearance issues. but i wouldnt mind running like a 305 or a 295 on my h2s.

D-Max Mafia, what type of steering kit do you have? should i look into the idler/pitman braces for racing or sled pulling?

Ryan T, did you put the front diff back in the stock location to get it that low? i mean obviously but how did you do it?

MaddMatt, thats pretty freaking sweet. for some reason i always liked the extra long trucks jacked up like that. did you build the weight rack up front?

I build my own steering kits. Right now I running a modified factory center link with heim joint tie rods and my own support kit. It launches better than a Cognito support kit with sleeves.
