LB7: lb7 cp3 replacement

Does anyone know a shop that will replace a cp3 on a stock 2002 duramax in the Houston Texas area??The dealership wants $2500 for parts and labor ,is that reasonable? I live about 90 miles north of Houston.

$2500 seems crazy! Lol. There Definatly a pita to get to and get out but not $2,500 to get out lol. For someone who has done them before should take about 4-6 hours I believe.

I don't know any dealers that only charge 90 an hour for labor.

Nor parts of 500$... Wtf gaskets do you need for a cp3 r&r that cost 500$ lol

X2^^ i think the only gaskets you really need are for thermostat housing.. id do it for 300-400400 labor also

Umm I haven't ever used any new gaskets on my cp3 swaps?

That's why I am on here! Seems crazy to me too..still lookin for shop in Houston area...

Why pull that nut off with cp3 on the motor still? I change the gear out on my work bench.

Thanks for telling me about Relentless Diesels!!!Got cp3 put on my truck and it runs great!!!Chris is a great mechanic..he also replaced some weathercracked hoses..all for less than half the price of the dealer!!it has been three weeks now and no problems at all...THANKS AGIAN!!!
