Hey Everyone,
I've been lurking for several weeks trying to search and learn as much as I can before I ask stupid questions that have been answered a hundred times already. I know I need to update my signature so you know what I'm working with but I'll run down the particulars: '06 LBZ with tons of upgrades to engine, tranny, and body. I bought it from another member on here, D-max mafia. It has a Danville 4094 turbo, PPE up pipes, down pipes, manifolds, DSP5 tuning by Duramax tuner, stage 5 trans, etc. The list goes on a lot further but again, I bought it and all the blood, sweat, and tears Ben put into it.
My question is for all the people crazy enough to tow heavy loads in a state as hot as AZ with huge, long grades up the mountains. The temp gauge went past 210 while towing which freaked me out because I know almost nothing about diesels. From what I read, probably not a big deal due to inaccuracy of factory gauge but that doesn't mean there's not room for improvement. If I install a Hayden 2886, will the fan ever turn off again? It sounds like it will engage at lower temps which is great while towing but maybe not so good for every day use? Whatcha all think?
Thanks in advance,
JT
