Ok, so I am on a plan that should be around 13mbps. I look at my bill and sure enough, I am being charged for Preferred internet service (Speeds up to 13mbps)...

So I out of the blue do a little check....

attachment.php

Does that look anything like 13mbps???? It looks more like there cheaper "essential" package (reach speeds up to 3mbps)..

I'll be calling Monday and seeing whats up. They are charging me foe 'preferred' and giving me 'essential'

FWIW, I also tested my speeds tethered to my Droid while I was at it.

Check your bills, and your speeds....

lol ya they do that lots in Canada then they will say it is your hardware or that is a max and can be lower at times, yet it is lower 100% of the time till they send a tech with a test scanner then they up it for the test show it is full then turn it back down.

Im paying $47.xx for the internet service (I have cable too it comes out at like 109 a month.)

t says it should be 10mbps with an additional 3mbps boost for your first 22mb of data....maybe they have it backwards lol.

Trent, what speed is your isp billing you for. Thats my issue. my 3mbps is not all that bad, but im being billed for 10-13mbps

Have you tried a test inside your ISP's network?

I just compared mine:
Inside was 21MB down/5.4MB up

Speedtest.net was 10MB down/5.58MB up

yep tried, still got 3.2mbps down.

I think I just realized something though. I think I am supposed to have the 3mbps service, but they are charging me for more is all....

its faster plugging it in? sounds like you need a new router lol.

Well having 3 computers on the internet and X-Box live running full time could have something to do with. The router is the latest and greatest I think.
