cooler line couplings

I currently have a 03 LB7 with ATS stage one transmission, my flex plate blew apart and had to replace the bell housing. I found one from a 01 LB7 , have it all installed when hooking up the cooler lines the couplings are bigger. Any reason for the the difference? Ive found that The 2001 and 2002's used 3/4-16
Starting shortly into 2003 this was increased to 7/8-14. Would I be OK if I got the 3/4 couplings. Some one please help me out here.

Ran into the same problem with my 02 with a 04 housing,They make adaptors or the stealership should have what you need,i think I used 4l60-80e couplings as the line size was different from 01-02's than the 03-04's,found the adaptors at hardwere store for a couple bucks.Hope you get it fixed.

OK thanks man, I just didn't want to restrict the flow but should be the same due to the same size lines. I'll go to the hardware store and call gm to see how much couplings are thanks a lot.

Are the housings the same? Just the thread size is all that's different??

I have a 04(newer) on my 02(older)only the fitting size and I think the line size as well but it does work.
