the ecm is the one closest to the battery ?? 2006 , the truck just shut off going down the road ? I think the computer fried ?

The one attached to the radiator shroud is the TCM, the ECM is located just below and between the battery and the fuse panel at the plastic fender well

Never had to remove mine, yet. Appears it may be easier with the fender liner removed.

scanner will not communicate with the ecm ? trying to save myself a tow call , it's in the middle of no where !!

Don't just assume its the ecm. Do you have power when you turn the key on. Can you crank the engine. Start simple first

yes there is power when the key is on , no cranking

Does the starter click, have you tried jumping it. Batteries are one of the biggest causes of electrical problems in these trucks they do some weird things.

check your fuse for "aux acc" iirc. Had that happen to me freaked me out when I wasn't getting signal from the OBD2 connector from under the dash. I had plugged an air compressor to the second lighter outlet and blew the fuse, but I don't know if its the same fuse in a 2006 as I have a 2005..

lots of power , swapped the computer , did the 3 step thing and fired right up weird ? employee said he did use the truck to boost a loader earlier in the day ?
