263xhd vs 261xhd

In my daily driver I've got a 261xhd. I just picked up a parts truck last night that's got a new remanufactured 263xhd in it. Is it possible to use the 263 in my daily driver but keep it manual shift? Are the transfer cases themselves the same just one manual and one electronic? Is there a place for the manual rod it bolt on to a 263?

they are different enough to make it not quite worth swapping all the parts around unless one has significantly lower mileage.

I've never tried it, but I think it would be possible for an industrial fellow to make a custom shift lever for the 263.
