New motor build using some stuff from the old motor. This is what I have so far. I’ll hung up on what cam to use & AF or not.

New LML block o-ringed - 4.1 bore with billet main caps
Mahle Forged aluminum pistons - 17.5:1 compression ratio
Billet SoCal narrow rod journal crank
Narrowed Crower rods
SoCal stage 2 heads
Wagler street intake
100 over Exergy injectors
Dual cp3’s

0 need for an AF cam with that crank.

Cam would depend on turbo/s and rpm range you want to run.

I know I should have 200-250 over injectors but I already have the 100 overs and this build is already $$$

I tune it.

Consider your stall Convertor in that scenario as well. Will it be dedicated pulling truck or multi use? If multi use stay away from high overlap cams. Something in the 195-200 at .050 and 475-500 lift would be good if multi use. Maybe increase duration 10-15 degrees if you just looking for higher rpm power.

IIRC SoCal staid a bunch of their 2.5/2.6 pullers are running the 6480 cam. I know it performed very well when I tried out a 2.5 map charger and it was a pretty good pairing with the injector/converter combo I was running (250% and Goerend J).

It’s a pulling truck. I’ve been running the SoCal 6480 std fire with a 2.5 map turbo but I was curious if there was a better option.

I think you would be happy with the 8410 version. They don’t advertise it but they made it for me. That cam made good power to 4100 area. It spoils great as well. I have ran their 9100 before and believe that cam is better than the 9100. 9100 has a lot of overlap and is made for mostly high rpm power. I usually look for power under the curve not peak power. That makes it a more usable cam.

I don’t see that Bryant crank breaking but I guess anything is possible.

if they are, i would be VERY curious on block setup, rpm, internal weight, and so on. doubt we would see that info but we could hope :roflmao:

SoCal crank has much much much more material. I personally haven’t heard of one breaking. I guess anything is possible though.
