New 2.0L 4-cyl Cadillac turbo motor is putting out 272HP at 5500rpm, and 295ftlb?

Put that into perspective:

136HP per liter at low RPM. This exceeds many sportbikes at low RPM.

Or to compare it to car engines, a 2014 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo puts out 136hp/L but at a higher RPM and less torque per liter. Well, and a $150,000+ pricetag, with at least $35,000 of the price being the engine upgrade.

In the Dmax world? That would be 897HP in a 6.6L engine.

This is probably going to be an excellent engine swap powerplant for dune buggies and the like. 272HP is emissions power at factory boost.

The 2.0 liter in my Solstice GXP made 240 from the factory and with a GM update, 275. Probably the same motor, or at a minimum, an offshoot.

It's the latest generation of the motor from the Solstice GXP, Saturn Skye Redline, HHR SS, and Cobalt SS. Same 86mm square. The torque curve is impressive.

I had an '08 HHR SS with the BSN/Hahn tune. Beast.

4g63 competition...almost.:D What does it run for a turbo stock?

It's a little B-W but I can't remember the specs. The 4G63 would be competition, much like Nissan's SR20. The GM Drift guys were just about the only ones to rod the hell out of the older LNF version. They were running 700HP. The Euro crowd had these engine for a while in Opels and Saabs and there are lots of tuners and parts over there. Hahn was or is the only real option here apart from the factory upgrade mentioned earlier.

It looks very little based on the graph and how early it comes in and falls off. An ats with an bigger turbo and tune would be a cool sleeper

The problem is the little GM turbo motors never really seemed to take off. These motors, or versions of them, have been around for quite a while. There has never really been a big aftermarket. The Solstice and Skye were probably the best chance for this to hit the masses. The ATS won't be like the older Japanese stuff that was relatively cheap and had tons of aftermarket support. That part really is a shame since they have the potential.
