We pull a 7300# travel trailer with our 06 Silverado 2500HD. Recently we noticed a vibration noise around speeds of 55 to 60. I am wondering if the tongue weight of the camper is causing this noise and slight vibration. If there is an issue with the rear tires? They are realitively new. The truck doesn't do this without the camper. The tires on the camper are somewhat new as well.

Any ideas????? Thanks much...

We are 100% blind to any issues you have without some sort of info on your truck. Gives us everything done to the truck that’s not stock and include overall mileage

The truck is an 06 Silverado 2500 HD. It is stock. We noticed a very slight tire / road noise between 55 - 60 mph, without the travel trailer. With the trailer and added tongue weight the noise is greatly amplified. I keep roughly 72psi in the rear tires and 70 in the front when towing. The tires are fairly new and have not been rotated since purchased. I intend on having them rotated to see if that changes anything. The camper is 28 feet and about 7000+ pounds.

My concern of course is the danger that may be present.

What would be the recommended psi for towing? Could this be a truck issue instead of or in addition to a tire issue? Thanks

i would suggest having a shop pull the driveshaft and inspect the u-joints. they go dry and cause this issue. this cant be checked by the simple "hold the yoke and twist the driveshaft looking for play". the yoke ends must be removed and the joints twisted around feeling for a stiff/stuck joint.
