Yes, I know that but for any given size, the ST tire has a higher load rating. I'm not talking about a LT285/80R16 vs ST225/75R15. I'm talking about the EXACT size compared ST/LT.

Here's an example for 235/85R16 tires...

for this size, ST235/85R16, the Carlisle tire max load is rated at 3640 pounds.

Same size tire in LT235/85R16, the LT tire max load is rated at 3042 pounds.

The example above shows that 4 ST tires have an extra 2392 pounds of load capacity over the same LT tire. That means the ST tires can carry 1 ton more than the exact same size LT tires.

Trailer tires are rated with no reserve, being as they are built and rated for something that carries no passengers, like a trailer, they aren't regulated. That's why they are so cheap and brought in from china.

LT tires have a lot of reserve built into them, and are built to a higher, or probably in this case just built to a standard. Truck tire manufactures also have a face and a reputation to maintain. ST tires change names every couple years to "look new" and are pretty much untraceable.

About the only exception to the junk ST tire thing is the Sailun and the S637
