Torsion Bar Delete

I read a thread a while back where someone mentioned converting the front to coil springs.

Has anyone done this? I am in the process of buying an 06 LBZ that has front torsion bars. Would like to do front coil springs instead since it is 2WD if not an expensive conversion and possibly a 2"-4" drop.

I saw the Q1A conversions.

Just wondering if someone did a GM swap by changing the lower control arms and adding the springs. They have a spring rated for over 5800 lbs.

Why do you want to ditch the t-bars?

Smoother ride in a DD. Since it is only 2WD I am thinking about doing a 2-4 drop.

I am keeping my 4WD LLY for towing the boat and other stuff. This 06 LBZ came along as a good deal, so it is just a different approach.

If the 06 were 4WD, I would get rid of the LLY, or tear the LLY down and start a full motor build.
