Need some help on identifying if I'm nuts or not. Just rebuilt my steering box on my 2003 2500HD, screw cover that torques down the valve assy is my question area. I did another truck about 3 years ago and was fairly certain there was a seal in this part in addition to the input shaft seal.
Pic shows it has the space where a seal would go - and it makes sense as this area is prime to collect junk on top of the existing seal.

Two questions - One, is there a seal for this spot? Second, what is it called and where can I get it?
Thanks for help before I button this baby back up!

No seal there. the bearing houses the seals that you would have replaced. thats just there for preload and the recess i believe is so it doesnt press down on the seal the bearing houses.
