Sled pulling with stock trans video!!

Now some may not believe it, but this is a friend that has an 03 lb7 with 4294,100 overs and some bad ass tuning by upstate diesel performance, oh and the best part it's a stock trans and converter with only 1,2,3!!! Still has stock internals and no head studs!! Some NY members may know him, he won't fix it unless its broke!!! He was beat by a dedicated 2.6 cummins from either western ny or out of state not sure, this was at Fonda Thursday night.<br />

Its actually not that big of a surprise (least to me). Low range on the t-case takes alot of torque off the trans and if the clutches are fairly healthy they should hold ok in gears 1-3.

Now go drag race it in 4 hi on the big tune into 5th gear. If it dont limp then, then yes its one hell of a freak trans

4 and 5 are already gone, it's a dedicated sled pulling truck now. Was beat by a dedicated 2.6 truck by 4" this past weekend.

Derek06 runs a lift pump, downpipe back exhaust, and EFI live with a stock trans that somehow isn't grenaded. Truck beats on the big boys weekly. Setup and how you drive make a huge difference.

Derek06 is the man! He keeps "claiming" its a ""stock trans"" Does that mean the converer is stock?? :hug:

So far I haven't had any issues with my stock tranny. Truck is mostly hooked to the sled. I've ran on the drag strip couple times. Always locked it out of 5th and just run 4th out. 2 pulls to go this season with a big weekend at mason dixon dragway. It's getting built either way after that weekend so we are gonna see what she'll hold! :thumb:

I pulled with my supposely built trans that was actually stock (ripped outta 4700 bucks)when it got ripped apart, it had a crappy convertor and stock plates they were suprised it lasted as long ( 4 hooks on built trans stock turbo efi live tune) as it did, so im not to shocked by these guys stock trans results, but will have to say my actually built new trans runs alot better!

Yeah I can't wait to get mine done because I'm sure the power's not getting put the ground fully like it should!

I would love to do a tranny but I don't have the funds to do it so ill keep pushing the limits of my stock one till it decides its done lol... I know I'm losing thru my trans so I'm kinda woundering what it really puts down.

Briggs0130 where r ur last two pulls at this year im pretty sure we pulled against each other in huntingdon where u there? ( i had the green 04 finished 7th 8000lbs street)

There's a pull in Centre Hall, PA 10/6. Then an orlo ink pull at McConnellsburg,PA 10/21, Mason Dixon diesel days weekend event at the drag strip in Hagerstown, MD Pull on 10/22 and drag racing 10/23

Thanks i didnt know about the one in centre hall, diff gonna try and attend all three off those pulls

Bringing up an old thread here.
So in about 2 weeks is the last pull around my area. Im really wanting to go pull just dont want to kill anything. Already have the normal stuff like sleeves and braces. What i was wondering is I drive my truck on the 160hp PPE tune all the time and have never limped it even pulling loads, Im curious if you guys think it will handle the 225hp tune in 4low and let it shift 1,2,3.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Christopher
