GM paint, in my opinion was amazing until the 07.5 year

The metal for all body parts is far superior as well. I have to be careful not to put too much pressure on the hood and other parts of my 15 1500 when detailing it. I know they lightened everything up for cost and fuel mileage reasons but it ultimately isn't for the better.

TX of course
My 06 is great still. My 08 had issues and my 2015 is ok but I feel like the clear is really thin.

The clear on the 01-10 trucks does not stand up to alot of sunlight/heat (ie AZ lol). It starts to look like little spider cracks everywhere. Mine has it bad on the hood and some on the sides, brothers 10 has it starting and i know a few guys with 06-07 trucks with it way worse than mine.

besides that, i have some oxidation starting on the hood and roof and a metric shit ton of rock chips on the hood front and rockers but paint has never flaked anywhere.

I want to paint mine. Just a respray of the Onyx Black. Probably some light body work. Crew Cab Long Bed, I'm guessing $8000?

Any thoughts?

5-6k seems to be the norm for my truck (CC/LB and black). thats a decently good quality work/paint. above factory quality

I just had a estimate done on the regular cab I am building.

Complete respray and fix all body work needed with a hefty discount was 4K worst case. Now this truck is far from perfect body wise also.
