With the disaster in Appalachia, comms and potable water is basic too biggest issues, saw these

And got me thinking.. how to rig a water treatment plant on a 20-25' GN trailer, turn storm water into potable water. Needs some serious sediment removal equipment. R/O for main filtration and some large final filters, should be able to make 5-10gpm of fresh water. Unfortunately need easy 30k to build one

I can’t get a starlink right now, they have all been diverted to help in the mountains. It’s very sad how bad it is up there.

That whole place is a shit show, FEMA and NG got busted denying access and confiscating supplies, the claimed the never did that, claimed there are/where no TFRs.
Got into with a friend from Mars Hill area, claimed he never saw that, I'm like great glad they're doing right by you guys, unfortunately they are not in a lot of other places and Western NC covers some 12,000sqmi

It’s going to go down as the worst hurricane in modern US history. The death toll is going to be enormous, there are towns that are GONE. It’s hard to believe it’s happening in our country, I believe it’s not being reported to keep the current administration out of negative news. It’s bullshit. The Feds wasted all the emergency money on illegal immigrants.

I saw post where they overlaid Ukraine in the major area's affected by the Hurricane. I don't want to get into the political part. But its sad how its no problem to send Billions overseas in Aid yet we cant help our own citizen's. It also Pointed out How when we have a natural disaster no other countries come to our AID Yet we send billions to others...

Well I decided to change my tranny fluid on the side of the highway. Blew a line coming off the cooler. Hose clamp must’ve got loose? I know the barbs aren’t very aggressive and I’ll be changing them when we get back. Luckily, I brought all kinds of fluids with me, and had enough to get the few miles to a gas station and continue filling. Other than that, pretty smooth trip so far. It hasn’t been hot because we left at midnight, but all temps are good. And haven’t stopped for fuel yet hehe. Loving this bigger tank! First leg of the trip was Vegas to Durango, Co via four corners.

Well Helene is about to be outdone
Heard on the news today that it's currently a category 5 over the ocean but expected to drop to 4 when it hits land. Going to be brutal for all who went through the prior one out there

My in-laws went to Florida last week when this was starting to form. Decided not to leave. They are around 60ish miles south of Orlando in a small town called Sebring

My friend an hour north of Orlando is in TX this week and his wife is at home. He said he wasn't worried about it.
My other friend in Tampa drove up to his parents' place in Charlotte, NC and decided to stay there for a while.
