Hey guys, I'm going to be playing with nitrous on a friend's truck this week. I'm looking for some input from guys who have personal experience with nitrous on a stock motor. What size jet have you run? What timing? What kind of gain in ET vs fuel only? Just trying to get an idea on what to expect.

i just put a .063 NX solonoid on my lbz, we knocked the timming back to 26 degrees, it knocked off exactly 2 tenths, this unit is small and safe... it will kniock more time off im sure, on that pass i left super soft, i think it will run 7.80s all day long in the 1/8TH safely, if i leave harder... it only had 1.80 60 footer, it normally does low 1.70s.. my truck runs 8.11 to 8.14@ 84 every pass on the engine, 7.91@88 on NOS

You are running an .063 solenoid with what size jet?

I've run as big as .083 jet (somewhere right around there) I didn't reduce timing because n20 is just forced oxygen, if you increased boost would you pull timing ? If you run a -4 line to the solenoid from the bottle you pretty much can't hurt it won't be able to flow enough to make more than 150 h.p. roughly

Diesels like timing!!!! I run the same timing tables running fuel only, nitrous, water/meth. I run a small noid and just use a 1/8 inch brake line/boost line for the jet:thumb: works great and is worth prob 75ish hp. my timing maxes out at 40* ON EDIT: at 3400 rpms timing is set at 34* at 4800rpms its set at 40*

I had duel cp3's on my stocker, but was able to knock a full second off et. Single noid(80 something) on full throttle micro switch. I put a y in the line and went pre and post IC on the one stage. Although the noid wouldnt officially handle it, I normally used an 80 pre and a 65 post, with bottle pressure right at 1200(1250 would lock it out) Max timing right about 32. You could start with smaller jets obviously, but my truck really loved the pre and post.

If you were to do just a single nozzle, would you do pre or post IC?

Mine is rigged to spray a .067 jet.
What kind of timing do you run? How much did it drop your ET?

The nitrous kit is already ordered. It is getting a solenoid with a .125 orifice.
