Ok well she has held off long enough driving an 02 Silouhette w/ 230k on it. She wants something that sets up high like her van and gets good fuel mileag. Her van regularly gets 25+ around town. She want something like an GMC Acadia. But all reports on those are coming back at 18-19 atbest. Equinox is too small. Hates the Ford Edge styling. Twas hold out for something with the miniMax but getting nowhere. She drives 60 miles round trip everyday. Tahoe Hybrid is a little too steep price wise. She's ready to be out of the minivan and thought by now the crossovers would get better mileage, but its not looking good.

Have you looked at the Subaru Outback? I love my 2012. Gets 27 in town and 31-32 hwy. It's a 4-cylinder and has a lot more room than one would think.

Im an old vw die hard, i have a 2011 tdi golf that has been amazing to own, that being said, i like the vw tiguan. It gets low 30's i think hwy and lo-mid 20's city. Most are powered by the 2.0t gti engine.
My wife currently dribe an 08 subie legacy that has been a great car, she gets high 20's (27mpg) after i made a couple mods to the air box, she wants a new bmw x5 now.

This year when we went on vacation, I had the tahoe loaded down we got 19.6 and thats cruising around 82!
