Lbz vs lml

Looking to buy my first duramax. Currently drive a 2015 f150
I have a few options that I can’t choose between, torn between buying a 2007 lbz with 202,000 miles, egr has a blocker plate, completely rust free, proven tunes on a 5 position switch, fresh paint job and bunch of new body parts. Truck looks brand new for $25,000
Or a 2015 gmc lml with 160,000 miles, new head gaskets, head studs, new injectors, tuned and deleted for $37,000
Or a 2015 Chevy lml with 160,000 miles with fass lift pump, fleece cp3 conversion, and new up pipes, tuned and deleted for 36,500.
Any input is appreciated!!

It’s a toss up between the two 15’s. HG’s done, still has CP4 pump or CP3 pump but still original HG’s. Definitely a lot for the 07.

The 2007 would be my pick if you could get the price down. The 2015s are nice trucks but i am not a LML fan. Really all he prices seem a little high to me. Depending on what you want to use the truck for the 2007 will work great. If your gonna be towing bigger loads go for the either of 2015s. Really if your gonna spend that amount id go for a 2017 with the L5P.

Imho, none of the above. I’d rather find the grandpa truck and build from there.

07 has lots of miles, stock trans and I’m sure it’s not happy but they put lipstick on it. Possible injectors are starting to return a decent amount of fuel at 200k as well.

LML’s - depends on if they are 15s or 15.5’s (newer interior).


If I had 0 choice, I’d rather have the cp3 converted rig and then stud it right away.

Of the 3 if it's a 15.5s get the chevy with the cp3 conversion would be my top choice. They really are quite a but nicer trucks then the LBZs.

That's not to much for the LBZ if it's loaded and clean. Just be leary of the trans and injectors. Flog the shit out of it on a test drive. After it's warm few WOT runs until the speed limiter at least. You want to see if the trans limps or your get a fuel pressure limp. Trans will cost you $6k injectors will cost $3k plus.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of a truck with studs unless you know where it was done. And it was done right.
