Large lift pump suggestions?

I'm needing a larger lift pump than what I have right now, which is an AD-165. Haven't had any issues out of it at all, wouldn't mind sticking to AD, but was told I'll need a Fass-290 for my fulel setup. As far as I know, AD doesn't have anything equivalent? I looked at Fuel Lab and Kennedy, but neither seem to offer anything in that size.

Is the Fass my only option, or would running 2 ADs in-line do the trick too? Any pros/cons to running dual pumps?

Is there anything else out there I should consider?

I will need a larger one if I want to max out the fuel/air. Fueling is 200% Exergy injectors, and a 14mm stroker. How much is the AD-165 good for?

My understanding is that the 165 is supposed to be good up to 800hp.

What is the FuelLab 200 rated for? I’d much rather go with it, than Fass.

Buddies truck is at 1200+hp with his. Witch is gonna be about max for your injectors.

Baldwin makes fuelab filters.

My new build has fuelab 200 with 400s and 14mm pump.

That’s about where I’d like to be. I’m leaning towards FuelLab since it’s brushless, and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I’m thinking that should be all I need. Appreciate the info...

Fuelab 42401/42402 both need bypass regulator -10 supply line

I have a 41402 for my 8.3..should have done the 41401 at least I don't have fuel starvation issue :rofl:

You won't run the Fuelab pump out of fuel. Tim Jahn has made well over 1200hp to the tire and hasn't had any fuel pressure issues (6.4L Ford running a Velocity 200). Get a good sump (G&R, RCD, ect) and be done.

You can use a Hobbs switch to control speeds. I am using an adjustable Hobbs switch set at 10psi which will open the ground to the speed control terminal. Cuts down on noise and unnecessary pumping of unused fuel.

I'm doing the same thing. I went with a Prodigy 41403 (200gph @ 20psi) with a bypass reg mounted underhood where the driver's battery goes. I'm running modded 250% with a 14mm street pump in the valley and a stock LBZ pump on the belt all fed by -8AN pushlock.



Fuelab 42401/42402 both need bypass regulator -10 supply line.

I ran a Fuelab 200 with a bypass regulator feeding 2 10mm pumps and 150 injectors on my LB7 pull truck. Truck had dynoed 1252hp at the wheels and pump had no problems keeping. Fuelab pump motors are also brushless. I ran it for 3 pulling seasons with zero issues. I will be definitely be upgrading my current truck to a Fuelab soon.

Is the Velocity 200 lift pump self priming? A Velocity wouldn’t need a bypass regulator either, right?

Correct, a Velocity does not need a separate bypass regulator as it has a regulator on the output plumbing that is preset between 8-10psi. You will have to run a return line just like a FASS or Airdog.


I can't comment on self-priming but you should be filling filters now upon changes in order to stop the lift pump from running dry.
