Help with Filter

I just changed my fuel filter. I run generally Wix filters, and have now switched to the Cat filter and adapter. My question is when I emptied the wix out some really nasty stuff came out, is this normal? Could it be because I have run the last couple of tanks fairly rich with fuel treatment / cleaner?

The wix filter is junk I believe it’s a 14 micron compared to our new 2 cat it’s probably just dirt from the bottom of your tank and lines that’s all
