Front Differential interchange?

The drivers side output shaft on my 04 has all kinds of play. It may be something that just a rebuild with new bearings and seals would fix, but if not, or if I found a front diff for the right price, what years will interchange? If I'm going to go the route of a salvage diff, then the newer the better. I saw one from a '15 for sale with 3.73's, and while the overall form looks similar, the center section is different (looks more like a rear diff flipped around with a separate cover that can be removed). Would the diff from a '15 fit, or is the only interchange 01-10 2500HD/3500?

The front diff housing in the 11 and up are different. They way they mount it's alot different. You might be able to fabricate mounts and make one work. They don't bilt in with the ears like the 01-10 front diff does. They have long bolts that go up through them into a mount.
