After this past Fridays drag passes my rig will barely break 12.69 in a 1/4. My current 1057 converter is way too tight. My fuel and air supply is currently a 72vgt/60%/12mm cp3. I can only build 5psi at the line before it pushes through the brakes and turbo is nowhere near lit. I tow a gooseneck 3 days a week with it.

I've tried contacting Suncoast but have had no luck in getting them to respond to restall/rebuild my 1057.
Would a 1055, 1058, or a new 1074 be the best for this set up? Id prefer to build my current 1057 unless someone on here wants it for chrap or maybe Evan can build it. Thanks in advance

I would think there is something wrong with your brakes or that converter is seriously F-ed... You should be able to build more than 5psi even with a tight 1057. When righteyeblind ran a 1057 I know he could build 15-20 depending on what the track would hold IIRC. Have you gone through your brakes?

Suncoast does all of our converters for us. The 74 is still to tight. What kind of RPM are you getting out of the 57? If you want give me a call and we can go over some options for you.

This current converter Is definitely on its last legs. Right now I see around 1600-1800 rpm. I just did a new powere steering system, master cylinder and pads in the truck.

Evan, is there any way you could build off my current 1057? Right now my options are a 1055, 1074,or 1058. Looking for the best one to tow trailers and couple the quickest

It isn't hard to get a restall from them on your convertor. Call their 800 number and ask to speak with Jerry. He is the one that will do the work.

For what your doing there are much better options then just a restall of your 57. The 1057 wasn't meant for what you are doing. Call me tomorrow 413-770-3585 and I can get you what you need.

I'll call you tomorrow Evan. Thank you for your advice. I wouldn't be opposed to a big converter but towing a gooseneck frequently and street driving the truck a lot puts a damper on that. I use this truck to make 50% of my income and it must be dependable and not get hot.

Also to answer the question I've only stuck with Suncoast these 4 years because it was cheap and it's been a reliable converter. It has great street manners with a trailer also. Thank you

Not saying DTS can't build a turbo, but what's that 72mm based off of? Doesn't sound like it's on par with what Mark is building. I'd think that 1057 (while maybe not the greatest for a vgt 72mm) should be doing better if the tunes are set up right.

The 1057 converter was done in 2005 by Ron , Joe Webb, ( Suncoast ) and myself. We did it for McRat. A little outdated by todays standards, but still an ok converter. Suncoast has better stuff as do I.

I just went from a 1057 to a 1055 and it is awesome. Should have done it alot sooner. By the sounds of it a 1055 would be to loose for you since you tow often. Sounds like you need mikes R converter

I've got a lightly used 1058sc with 2300 stall for sale. It was a nice converter. I went with a higher stall for new turbo's, only reason for selling

Chris it's Brayden, I'd still be interested if something doesn't work out. Evan is suppose to get me some pricing on turning my 1057 into a 1078 this week
