Fathers 55 Chevy will do around 20 with a healthy 350 and a 750 Holley carb, this is with a turbo 350 tranny and a 3.08 geared rearend.

Off topic Malibu, do you have any picyires of your homemade air intake on your truck? How did you reinstall your MAF sensor into the new PVC tubeing?

yeah got it some were... pm sent with pictures

i used the oem box since its a 4" outlet and ran 4" black ABS as the intake.. and naturally left the MAF sensor in the oem air box location... had to re-calibrat the MAF with EFI live though..

.. on the 55 chevy... cool.. im doing it @ 75-80mph with mine (old motor got maybe 20 miles on the new engine).. though the norm is holley and good mpg arent synonoumuse(sp?)

how about a dyno sheet? :D

dynod the 468 today on a dynojet..
with a 600cfm edelbrock performer carb..
31* total timeing
305hp @ 4600
433tq @ 2600rpm

AFR is little on the lean about 13.3-13.6:1

i need to re-jet the secondaries to fatten them up..

i used a 750 for the break in of the camshaft.. then swaped the 600 back on... 750 is really sluggish when cruising and the long legs (2.41:1 gears 25" tire) the car has.

the 600 doesnt have enough idle screw to crank the rpms up to 2500-3000rpm most you will get is 2000-2100

never got to re-dyno with added timeing or richening up the carb..

i do know first tank was 15 mpg.
2nd tank was 17mph weighting 4800lb when i drove home form college friday running 75-80

empty wagon weighs 4000lb with me in it and a 1/4 tank of gas..

also got and alignement done there as well.. did it equal both sides
caster +3*
camber -.5*
toe is all over the place.. center link, anf all tie rods are shot.. did the best to set toe about .1* in

before i was .2-.5* toe in
+ 1.5/-2.2* caster
+1.0/+.6* camber.

turns littel harder off center but handles much nicer

Still has the same 468BBC I build a while ago..
It's got OEM C5 13" disc up front , 4th gen F-body 12" disc out back, a lot of UMI goodies A-arms, frame braces.. got a 8.8/7.5 hybrid axle with 31 spline 3.08 and true Trac diff..
275/40/17 all the way around.
Currently building a 9:1 496 BBC should be very happy on 87 and be ~575-600hp

F1DC6BBD-F8F2-479C-99B9-423BAB2CC24B.pngSaw this thread was from a while back but you bumped it up. I dig the wagon. I just made a post not very long ago about drag racing with a saginaw 4 speed because that’s what my 79 wagon has in it. Probably still on the first “smoke signal” page. 355 fairly radical solid lifter cam, 650 Holley, 9 inch that I took the 4.56 gear out of and put in a 3.89 so it would be better to cruise with.
