Bought a Sierra as Donortruck - now he stay

Going on with the rims, as this is the first we want complete with the rear axle.
We used also the zinq-epoxy primer

We will use the steel rims until we know which rims are allow here and where we can got them.
After painting tomorrow will they go to the tire-shop to put the tires back on them.
We will use again balancing compound like with the chevy rims for truck tires to not have again all the balancing weights clamp on the rims like before....

I didn't miss the dirt by derusting work on the axles


The rims did not come out of the paint satisfactorily. A filler was required after sandblasting. So the whole thing again with a filler.


Just put together all the parts for the shopping list rear axle (Bearing, Seals...)

The Sierra have a lot of more brackets than the chevy - my drying rack is not big enough, also not with 2 floors to got all in one job.
We used here also again the zinq-epoxy-primer

The brackets coming out pretty good in black - just 25% done now....
On the frame is 3 kg Epoxyprimer and 3 kg black paint
On these brackets and leafsprings again 0,5 kg Epoxyprimer and 0,5 kg paint


the leafsprings are also ready primed and painted after derusting
We dont separate the leafs - usually it exists different opinion about the best treatment for leafsprings
They was in a good condition, no need to open that package
we have removed the bushings and will set new inside also we need four new leafspads at the end of the lower leafs


the rear axle is also painted bot not final. We need still to open for a check.
Paint is necessary as currently we have high humidity here

Painting is timeconsuming...

Even though we will be replacing the controlarms, we still preserved the old parts. Because I did it, I'm sure I'll never need them again in my life.... I do not do it...

We had miss to sandblasting:

On the chevy we had reuse the metall cabs and only exchange the rubber bushings
This was the one which looked best of all.... on the others are the lower shell on the right side in this picture rotten down

the leafspring bolts are scrap - they should be already renew after disambling.
