Last weekend I bent the factory receiver, so I upgraded to the xd curt. This weekend I started to bend the end of the my frame. What are you sled pullers doing to prevent this. Thanks

I've bent stock and hd hitches. I even bent 3/4" plate steel that I braced with. I ended up welding another tube between the rails in the back and bolted the hitch to that with grade 8 hardware

How far is your hook point out from the back of the truck? You need to get your hook point as far forward as possible. Then move your hitch forward as far as rule allow. I have also seen braces from the rear end housing up to the back of the hitch.

This is what happens when the bumper no longer attaches to an aftermarket hitch. Gm uses the bumper to help support the factory hitch and the frame was never designed to take full directly at the hitch mounting points.

You need to box the frame in, bend that stuff back up and maybe throw some flat plate on the bottom to double up thickness. Then look at adding structure that triangulates from the frame to the center hitch point.

Same thing happened to me. I straitened the frame back out by putting my pulling hitch in upside down and hooking to a high strong tree. It bent back easily. Instead of boxing the frame I made bolt in gussets to put the weight on the side of the c channel where it's stronger. I didn't have time to make them for the forward 4 bolts of the hitch ( where mine bent up). For temporary I made ajustable stops. Nothing bent the last time I pulled.

The bottom lip of the frame will not take that load for more than a hook or two, especially on trucks that have been through a few winters of salt.

To make it hold you need to attach the hitch to the vertical part of the frame. Whether it's with braces or just putting a different hitch in that attaches to the sides of the frame rails.
