Hello ,New to the site/ I have a question ? can the Allison 6 speed 2 wheel be converted with out any electronic upgrades ? The build i would like to do would be to take my 07 LBZ and convert it to 4 wheel drive .i have the rear tail half and shaft from the 04 5 speed i know that will swap . i plan to use the Advance adapters p/n 50/9421 housing to convert to NP205 transfer case manual shift. it will bolt the transfer case to the stock 4x4 back case .Will this cause any limp mode problems in LOW range . If so how do i fix the problem before i start the build I have been told it will work because your not using the stock 06 4x4 case no push button engagement . Any info would be appreciated .

Moved this over into the General Trans Talk section, so more people will see it and help out.

If that's true, you should be set. But if you're doing all this just for manual shift, why not run a 261? I know everyone loves a 205, but it's old tech.

You have to signal the ecm / tcm (can't remember actually which one, or if it's both) when in low range when the output speed sensor is on the output of the tcase.
