Does anyone know if cats can be removed from a 2000 4.8 and still New York inspection. Nevermind the visual part, I'm talking only the computer stuff...If they can be removed what is need in tuning to keep CEL off?

Gut the cats, and put 2 spark plug anti foulers between the downstream O2 sensor and the pipe bung. You will have to drill the 1st one out to allow the O2 to thread in, but this will slow the O2 sensor response enough to stop any codes for downstream O2 sensor or cat inefficiency codes. Otherwise most any custom tuner can easily shut the codes off.
