I have a 06 3500 drw. I'm about to swap front differentials due to a gear change. I'm leveled now with 295s on my stock steel wheels. I'm looking for opinions and feedback on wether to just leave it like it is (doesnt wear the front tires funny and drives good rides good) or put a 4-6" lift on it to fix the CV angles. I have a set if kryptonite uca to go on it as well.

My wheel delima is I dont really want to go to a 20. But most of the lift company's are now telling me that my 16s and possibly 17s wont work without like a 1" spacer or go to the big wheels. Anyone have insite on doing this?

Thanks

If you did a bracket lift instead of a knuckle lift you wouldn't need the spacers.

Problem is with a knuckle lift they flip the tie rods from the bottom of the steering knuckle ear to the top. With the tie rod on the top it hits the inside wheel lip.

Superlift and tuff country both make a bracket kit. Tuff country actually makes a 4” that would be about the same height. As long as your angles are flat, there’s no need for aftermarket UCAs

I already have the ucas and my upper ball joints are close to needing replaced.

Plan to do the fabtech tierods to upgrade them over the stock when I do this. The truck is a work truck. I only use it offroad when working on the farm or jobsites. No wheeling. But I'd like to go to 34-35" tire next and feel like with the 4.56 gears the angle of my CV axles might pop if they get in a bind.

I put a cognito 4-6" lift on mine. 08 DRW with 17" wheels. Didn't have any clearance issues on the front. Also rides better with flat CVs then cranked up
